The Carolina Montessori Academy is a nonprofit corporation and was established in Charlotte, NC in 1990. It adheres to a philosophy and method of education designed to develop creative, independent children with a zest for learning.
The school is directed by Mrs. Norma Culbreth and Mrs. Dorothy Ponton. Norma is AMS certified and has over eight (8) years of experience working with children. Dorothy has eleven (11) years of experience working with children in the classroom. Carolina Montessori Academy is accredited by the State of North Carolina and is recognized by the American Montessori Society.
Carolina Montessori Academy relies heavily on the participation and assistance of its parent body to maintain high standards of education through the contribution of ideas, skills, and experience. Parents are and integral part of a child's education and we encourage parents to participate to the fullest extent. Classes are open for observation beginning at 9:30 a.m. form October through May. We also expect parents to volunteer at least one hour per month ot contribute in some way to the continued success of the children. Parents may come in to read to the children, work on the newsletter, or share professional expertise.
The Carolina Montessori Academy is a private non-denominational school committed to providing excellent education for children from diverse backgrounds, ages two years to third grade. This child-centered school promotes joy in learning and positive character development.
